Mac-Talla Terra Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Morrison Distillers (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 46% Age: 12 Years Old Country: Scotland
The Morrison Family are one of Scotland’s oldest whisky families. They previously owned Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch distilleries. They are otherwise widely known for their Càrn Mòr and Old Perth labels.
The term Mac-Talla means ‘Echo’ in Scottish Gaelic and reflects the Morrison family connection to the island of Islay perfectly. The bottling has been named ‘Terra’ meaning ‘earth’ is a nod to the important place peat plays in many of the Islay single malts. Certainly peat had become synonymous with Islay whisky, and Mac-Talla ‘Terra’ Islay single malt scotch whisky is a classic example of the islands smoky & fresh style. Distilled using rich smoky peated barley and matured in American oak casks. The distillery has not been disclosed but rumours suggest (due to the family connections) that it is sourced from Bowmore Distillery. It really doesn’y matter where it’s from as it’s delicious and very much worth owning a bottle (or two). Bottled at 46% alc/vol.
